This establishment is walking distance from all the little hotels and as a last minute destination for somewhere to eat, I was pleasantly surprised. It had great options for food. Really a wide variety. I got the clam chowder bread bowl and it was soft and fresh! Great flavor. Will say the clam chowder tasted less like clam chowder and more like bacon and potato chowder but it was really good!
An absolutely beautiful restaurant with a beautiful view. Eat outdoors .. it is gorgeous. Good selection. Great food. Stopped for lunch after a busy day of touring and was thrilled with how delicious the food was. Little quint beach town that we thought was fantastic.
This place is great, with a 5 star view! We were very hungry since we hadn't eaten for almost 12 hours after escaping from Orange County. After starting with a Tito's martini with a twist, I had the BBQ beef slaw bowl. My wife had a house margarita and a carnitas taco salad. Everything was delicious and the martini was STRONG. When combined with great weather and a magnificent view from our outdoor table, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Honestly, I'm not sure why people get cash out of the atm, line up and wait an hour for sea chest when this place is here- the flavor of the food here is so much better - and a full bar if you prefer a cocktail. Bonus (for me): the bread here is French instead of sourdough.
My wife wanted lunch out and thought Moonstone Bar and Grill would be a good place to go on a sunny afternoon. It turned out that she was right. It was a beautiful day and many others had the same thought. After a reasonable wait (they were busy), we were seated and attended to by Ismael. I ordered the smoked cheddar cheeseburger with fries and she ordered a cup of clam chowder and a walnut Gorgonzola salad. I tasted her chowder and it was excellent and loaded with clams. Her salad must have been good because she wouldn't share with me. My cheeseburger and fries were perfect. The fries were crunchy and freshly made. The cheeseburger was well constructed and was tasty. I ate every bit. My opinion of Moonstone Bar and Grill changed today and, if my wife suggests that we go there for lunch, I will say, "I'll get the car keys .".
The best clam chowder I've had in a really long time! Worth every calorie. We tried the fried calamari too and it was really fresh and tasty. The service is great, very attentive. Cute place with a full bar You are literally across the street from the beach and a wonderful boardwalk to work off those calories
Great spot across the street from Moonstone beach. Nice patio with a view of the water. Assortment of sandwiches, tacos, seafood at middle of the road prices. We tried the fish tacos, clam chowder, cioppino, and chicken sandwich. They were all decent. There was a jalapeño sauce and salsa served with the tacos which were both tasty. I would definitely go back for the atmosphere. Service was good. We were a table of 7, and we were assigned 2 separate waiters for efficient speedy service.
A friend highly recommended this restaurant. They don't take reservations, and people start lining up around 4:30 for the 5 pm opening. We sat on the patio, which had heaters and was just perfect. We ordered crab legs, a cod sandwich, sweet potato fries, and shrimp & scallop tacos. They also served fresh, warm, delicious bread. The food and service were excellent, with our drinks constantly refilled and our waiter being very attentive. I would definitely return if in the area. 8/5/24
